Studio Ringtail is the design practice of Austen Lycke in Bruges, Belgium. A one-person studio taking on commissions in graphic design, photography, motion design and web apps, a few at a time. Every project gets the same approach: listen well, iterate carefully, and finish until it holds.
Four disciplines under one roof: graphic design (brand identity, print, editorial and websites), photography (product, place and editorial), motion design (short animations for social and titles) and web apps (booking and reservation systems that take over the paperwork). Photography commissions are temporarily paused; the rest can be booked separately and reinforce each other in one project.
In four steps: an intake where I mostly listen, a concept that sets the direction, careful iterations on the actual work, and delivery. You work with the same person the whole way, so the lines stay short and nothing gets lost in a handover.
Count on four to eight weeks for graphic design and web apps, and two to four weeks for motion design. The exact timeline depends on the scope of the project and on how quickly feedback moves back and forth; we agree on it together up front.
The studio is based in Bruges and works on site in Bruges and the rest of West Flanders. For design, motion and web apps I also work remotely for clients across Belgium, so distance from the studio does not have to stop a project.
Not at the moment: getting to locations is not easy for me right now, so I am temporarily not taking on photography commissions. Photography remains part of the studio, and the gallery shows what is already there. Leave a note through the contact page and you will hear as soon as shoots are possible again.
From the ringtail (Bassariscus astutus), a small relative of the raccoon that hunts patiently and wastes little. Those two traits are the studio's way of working: look calmly before anything gets made, and add nothing that doesn't help the reader.
Austen Lycke, student designer and founder. I started the studio in Bruges in 2026 and do every step myself, from first sketch to launch. That keeps the number of commissions deliberately small and keeps me close to the people behind the work.
